News October 26, 2019Congratulations to Caitlin and Robert! Caitlin was promoted to First Degree Black Belt today and Robert was promoted to Second Degree Black Belt! We're so proud of them! Years of dedication and hard word were on display today. Thanks to Garrett Foster for volunteering to help with the sparring today! 
April 2, 2019 Congratulations to Ivan Contreras for getting his Purple Belt! He's been working really hard and had a great test! 
December 20, 2018 The Dragon School had its last class and last test of the year yesterday (12/20/2018). Congratulations to Greg for getting his Purple Belt! And congratulations to Caitlin for being promoted to Black Stripe! It was a great test and we're proud of both of them. We're looking forward to another fun and successful year of training in 2019. Class starts again Tuesday, January 8th. 
December 8, 2018 Congratulations to Mr. Roethlisberger and Ms. Pennell for earning their Green Belt in Kobudo by performing with the Bo Staff. They both had an excellent test and we're really proud of them. 
Setptember 4, 2018 Congratulations to our newest Blue Belt, Ivan Contreras! He's been training hard and had a great test.

May 19, 2018 Congratulations to Robert Roethlisberger for his promotion to First Degree Black Belt! It took over five years of hard work and dedication (and many more years training with other instructors) to achieve this well-deserved accomplishment. Mr. Davis and I couldn't have been prouder to hand you your Black Belt. Congratulations also to the other AKATO students who were promoted at the same test to Black Belt and advanced Black Belts. 
March 17, 2018 Our Student of the Year for 2017 is Caitlin Pennell! Here she is picured with Robert Roethlisberger at the Annual AKATO Banquet where she received her award. Caitlin showed tremendous dedication in 2017 as she continued training throughout her injury, surgery and recovery from a torn ACL. 
October 29, 2016 Congratulations to Caitlin for winning Second Place in sparring at the annual AKATO Tournament! This was her first tournament and she had to spar against much higher ranking opponents.

August 28, 2016 We recently had a visit from one of the original Dragon School Black Belts, Trista Lindsay Tilley! She earned her Black Belt rank from the Erisksons in 1987. She now lives in upstate South Carolina and trains in Wado-Ryu. Thanks for the visit and we hope to see you again!

July 14, 2016 We had a visit from a long lost Dragon on July 14th, Amy Hoang! She's off to the Naval Academy now. Good Luck Amy, we're proud of you! Here she is with me and Heather Foster.
